Outdoor dining in Harlem?! Get out of the
City. Londel’s is definitely the place to go. Nestled in the
historically elegant and quiet cul de sac that is Striver’s Row,
is a downtown dining experience, only Uptown. Sipping on a cool
thirst-quenching beverage while people watching has always been
my favorite warm weather past time, now in Harlem, at Londel’s I
can truly watch all of the fine people pass by.
The immaculate interior of Londel’s is
truly inviting of a business luncheon or an impressive date ---
but no smooching, the restaurant is definitely well lit. What’s
more is that the menu is not cost prohibitive…you can make a
great impression without breaking the bank.
Londel’s boasts an excellent and an
extremely attentive staff. Water is certainly not in short
supply, if you know what I mean.
My absolute favorite dish is the fried whiting. The batter is
distinctive but the dish is not oily. Hmm do they use oil, I
wonder? Of course the mac & cheese is on point. It's
refreshing when mac & cheese has several rich cheeses in the mix
as opposed to other restaurants which merely try to upgrade
instant mac & cheese in a box.
For the food, the ambiance, the service and
of course the people watching --- Londel’s is a cut above the
rest.
